The Twisting Horizon is a residential skyscraper in Mumbai, India. The tower reaches a height of 242 meters with 21 duplex units.
The site provides a perfect sea view in Mumbai Worli, twisting can gain more sea view for the inhabitant; also create a uniqueness sea view for each unit. As the site boundary is tight and try to explode the typical stacking system, try to use a dynamic way to solve the problems, creating a future living systems and experience. The topmost storey is twisted 280 degrees counterclockwise in respect to the ground floor. This typology makes the building look like a stack of houses which brings a new era of design in residential building. Furthermore, the form of twisting also brings the rhythm of the sea waves to energize the inhabitant’s life.
The building form is generated with a series of modules with different sizes. The largest volume at the bottom is designed as the luxury entrance lobby and the high quality club house. Above that, the apartment modules are twisting up around the core with 4 degree each which can create a unique sea view for the inhabitant to choose. As of the full duplex configuration, each unit will have a spacious double height living room and private garden which allows the inhabitant to plant their favourite vegetation. With the introduction of the infinity pool, the horizon of seascape is brought to the apartment and seamlessly merged together. The nature is no longer dividable. It is the most unique apartment design in Mumbai.
